The 9th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals ruled Wednesday in San Francisco’s favor over an ordinance that blocks sales of cigarettes at the city’s drug stores.

Philip Morris’ counsel, Daniel Collins of Munger, Tolles & Olson, argued before the appeals court in August that the city law violates the company’s First Amendment right to advertise its product.
