Editor’s note: ABC’s new lawyer drama, “The Deep End,” premiered Thursday night. The television show — which was filmed in Dallas — follows the lives of four first-year associates at a prestigious Los Angeles firm. So what do real lawyers think of the program? Texas Lawyer law editor Jacylyn Gardner asked five first-year associates, all of whom graduated from law school in 2009, to watch the Jan. 21 pilot episode and answer questions via e-mail. Their answers are below, edited for length and style.
