A story by retired Alston & Bird attorney Arthur Howell was published in Sports Illustrated last month as part of the magazine’s Masters preview edition. The 91-year-old lawyer wrote a first person account of his friendship with Bobby Jones, the celebrated amateur golfer and Atlanta icon who was a founder of one of Alston’s predecessor firms.

In his article, Howell recalled how modest Jones was regarding his golf feats and how the champion golfer had an affinity for the English language.
