Hunton & Williams has lured five energy partners from Paul, Hastings, Janofsky & Walker, according to a spokesman for Paul Hastings. The group adds to Hunton’s already strong energy practice, which boasts 100 lawyers and has represented some of the world’s leading energy companies on finance matters and in landmark pieces of litigation.

The move is headlined by partners John Hawkins and Jeff Schroeder, who will serve as co-heads of Hunton’s Energy Project Finance team. Hawkins was the chair of the Global Projects Group at Paul Hastings, according to his biography. The group as a whole is active in energy sector mergers and project finance and has advised Intergen and Con Edison on recent billion-dollar deals, according to the Paul Hastings website.
