In the last full week of August — a busier month than usual for corporate lawyers — several firms picked up significant pieces of work in the global arena.

Dorsey & Whitney and Indian firm Amarchand & Mangaldas were selected by the Indian government as legal advisers for the planned sale of a 20 percent stake in the Power Grid Corporation of India, Bloomberg reports. The follow-on public offer by the government and Power Grid for 841.8 million shares expects to raise $1.8 billion.
