Thaddeus M.S. Bereday may have been general counsel at Wellcare Health Plans, Inc., but he isn’t feeling so good these days. That’s because he is due to appear Thursday in federal court to answer a criminal felony indictment (pdf).

The U.S. attorney in Tampa, Fla., indicted Bereday, 45, and four other ousted Wellcare execs last Wednesday on multiple fraud counts. Bereday faces nine counts, including one count of conspiracy to defraud the U.S., four counts of making false statements, and four counts of health care fraud.
