JohnBeisner, who chaired the class actions practice at O’Melveny &Myers, is joining Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom, along withO’Melveny litigators Stephen Harburg and Jessica Davidson Miller. Abovethe Law first reported the news of Beisner’s move on Monday.
Beisner has been one of the most visible of O’Melveny’s partners inrecent years. Last year, for example, he negotiated a multibillionsettlement for Bank of America with 11 state attorneys general overtroubled mortgages issued by its Countrywide unit. (We named him Litigator of the Week for his work on the deal.) And in 2007, he played a leading role representing Merck in its $4.85 billion Vioxx settlement.
