• Simpson Thacher & Bartlett has appointed Paul C. Curnin and Thomas C. Rice as co-heads of the litigation practice. Mr. Curnin, 49, who focuses on securities litigation, government and internal investigations and takeover litigation became a partner at the firm in 1995. Mr. Rice, 55, a commercial trial lawyer with expertise in a wide variety of complex litigation has been a partner since 1989. They will take over from Barry Ostrager, who will remain an active member of the firm.
• Hogan Lovells has elevated two New York attorneys to the partnership: Brian McCormick, FDA/pharmaceuticals, and Lillian Tsu, corporate. Also, corporate attorney Roberto Zapata has been promoted to counsel.
