The federal government may shut down this weekend, but the U.S. courts will open as usual on Monday, and little change in operations is expected for a few weeks.

Moreover, at least one New York federal court will issue an order today designating all of its employees as “necessary and essential” to the continued resolution of cases, which would allow them to keep working even if a shutdown is protracted.
