The Senate Judiciary Committee yesterday advanced the nomination of Baker & Hostetler partner William F. Kuntz II for a slot on the Eastern District bench. The White House nominated Mr. Kuntz for the bench in March.

Mr. Kuntz, 60, a commercial litigator, has been at Baker & Hostetler since 2005. He graduated from Harvard Law School in 1977 and joined Shearman & Sterling as an associate the next year. During his career, he has worked at Milgrim, Thomajan, Jacobs & Lee (1986-1994); Seward & Kissel (1994-2001); Torys (2001-2004) and Constantine Cannon (2004-2005).
