CHADBOURNE & PARKE (New York): Simon Schmidt joins the firm as partner in the Dubai, United Arab Emirates, office. He will focus on large-scale transactions in the Middle East and North Africa region, including those involving joint ventures, mutual funds and real estate development financings. Previously, Schmidt was chief operating officer and general counsel for Gulf Fund Management Ltd. in Dubai.
HISCOCK & BARCLAY (Syracuse, N.Y.): Jerry Solomon joins the firm’s white-collar criminal defense practice as of counsel to the Rochester, N.Y., office and will focus on white-collar criminal law and regulatory investigations. Previously, Solomon was a prosecutor with the Medicaid Fraud Control Unit of the Office of the New York State Attorney General.
