U.K. firm Simmons & Simmons has hired a new partner for its Beijing office from the former King & Wood, a day after its merger with Australian firm Mallesons Stephen Jaques became official.

Yongmei Evers Cai advises international and local companies on banking and finance, derivatives, and debt capital markets. In 2010, she advised lenders on a $2.9 billion loan provided to a joint venture between Riyadh-based industrial chemical producer Saudi Basic Industries Corp. and Chinese petrochemical producer China Petroleum & Chemical Corp.
