Polsinelli Shughart, one of The Am Law 200′s fastest-growing firms, confirmed this week that it has hired 14 lawyers from midsize St. Louis shop Gallop, Johnson & Neuman, a 36-year-old firm in the process of winding down its operations.

The Am Law Daily reported last week on Gallop Johnson’s failure to find a merger partner, a development that has prompted its Show-Me-State rivals to consider plucking key laterals from what remains of the 54-lawyer firm, which is set to close on April 30, according to the St. Louis Post-Dispatch.
