Sara L. Doyle has won a seat on the Court of Appeals of Georgia.

The 40-year-old Holland & Knight partner edged Lawrenceville criminal defense attorney Michael M. Sheffield in the race to succeed retiring Court of Appeals Judge John H. Ruffin Jr. Doyle won 51.8 percent of the vote, according to the Georgia Secretary of State’s Web site. With all but a handful of the state’s precincts reporting, Doyle had 883,702 votes to Sheffield’s 823,462.
