SAN FRANCISCO A federal judge in San Francisco gave preliminary approval Monday to a $20 million class action settlement for Facebook users whose identities appeared in the company’s “Sponsored Stories” advertising feature.
U.S. District Judge Richard Seeborg had rejected a previous proposal from Facebook Inc. and plaintiffs lawyers that provided for $10 million in charitable donations and up to $10 million in attorney fees, but no monetary benefit to class members.
