The Singapore International Arbitration Center has opened its first overseas office in Mumbai.

In a speech marking the opening in Mumbai on Saturday, Singapore’s junior law and education minister Indranee Rajah said the Indian city’s role as the country’s business and financial capital was key to SIAC’s decision to open there. The office is intended to market Singapore as the ideal place to resolve disputes involving Indian parties.
