King & Wood Mallesons Australia managing partner Tony O’Malley has resigned from his position and will retire as the firm’s partner in December.

A spokesperson for the firm would only say that O’Malley’s sudden resignation was the result of a "mutual agreement" and that the firm had formed a subcommittee to appoint a replacement. Global managing partner Stuart Fuller did not respond to requests for comments.
