Yesterday afternoon BlackBerry tweeted out a letter, pleading with its customers to “continue to count on BlackBerry” despite a staggering $965 million second quarter loss and rumors of a takeover.

The company acknowledged they are “making the difficult changes necessary to strengthen BlackBerry.” The Canadian Press reports that among those difficult changes is a 40 percent reduction in workforce. But the troubled Waterloo, Ontario-based company is highlighting its strengths. And among them, they count productivity. The four new BlackBerry devices, “continue to offer the best mobile typing experience — no ifs, ands or buts about it,” the company promises.
