A federal judge in Atlanta has sanctioned a Buckhead lawyer and his firm for making baseless allegations in a federal lawsuit against their opposing counsel in a Fulton County case.

U.S. District Senior Judge Charles Pannell Jr. this week called the conduct of Robert Thompson Jr. and his firm The Thompson Law Group “reprehensible.” Thompson, the judge wrote in a Jan. 21 order, made “serious claims … without a proper basis” against Atlanta attorney Kimberly Childs in a federal suit filed in 2012 on behalf of Julie Chrisley, the majority owner of Chrisley Asset Management and Pacific Development Partners.
