HWL Ebsworth is adding a partner in Perth.
Richard Johnson joins the firm’s restructuring and insolvency practice from Minter Ellison, where he was a special counsel. He starts on July 7.
Johnson has advised clients such as National Australia Bank Ltd., Westpac Banking Corp. and Ernst & Young Global Ltd. on corporate insolvency and financial restructuring matters, including receivership and liquidation. He also acts for boards of directors on turnaround management issues, distressed asset sales and purchases, and creditor negotiations.
First joining Minter Ellison in 2003, Johnson had spent his entire legal career with the firm. He was promoted to special counsel in 2011.
HWL Ebsworth now has 33 lawyers, including 11 partners, in its Perth office. The firm has about 500 lawyers, including 187 partners, in its six offices in Australia.
