The attorney for a man awarded $3.3 million for the injuries he suffered in a car wreck said he was surprised by the stiff resistance the defense put up in what he said should have been a routine case.

“The case was fairly straightforward, but the defense disputed everything,” said A. Joel Williams, who maintains his own solo practice and is also of counsel with ShiverHamilton. “They fought us on liability, they fought us on damages. I figured they’d just admit liability and contest causation.”
