Former Bingham McCutchen Hong Kong partner Vincent Sum has joined Mayer Brown JSM’s finance practice despite the Boston firm’s acquisition by Morgan Lewis & Bockius.

Sum is a debt capital markets specialist representing issuers, trustees and underwriters on structured products, derivatives and securitization deals. In March 2014, he advised HFT Investment Management Ltd., a joint venture between China’s Haitong Securities Co. Ltd. and BNP Paribas, on launching the first renminbi money market fund. In 2013, he also acted for Taiwanese computer manufacturer Wistron Corp. on a $500 million convertible bond issue in Singapore. He joined Bingham in 2010 from Hogan Lovells, where he was a consultant.
