Leanne Geale, chief ethics and compliance officer at Royal Dutch Shell, said in a recent interview that she has been surprised by the lack of knowledge of outside counsel, including some senior partners, on what constitutes a basic compliance program.
Geale talked about the compliance officer role in an interview with Bruno Mascello, vice director in the Executive School of Management, Technology and Law at the University of St. Gallen in Switzerland. The interview was published on the school’s website.
