Am Law 200 firm Chadbourne & Parke has closed its Beijing office, its only outpost in Asia.
The New York-based firm said it decided “a number of months ago” to close the one-lawyer office 15 years after it was launched. Ginger Li, the former head of legal in China for Peabody Energy, joined the firm early last year as a non-equity partner in Beijing. It wasn’t clear at press time whether Li would relocate to another office or leave the firm.
