Stolen and missing for 35 years, the beloved Stradivarius violin of famed concert violinist Roman Totenberg has been recovered by federal authorities in New York. The U.S. attorney in New York on Thursday will present the treasured 281-year-old violin to Totenberg’s three daughters: U.S. District Judge Amy Totenberg, NPR legal correspondent Nina Totenberg and New York public relations executive Jill Totenberg.

Their father died in 2012 at the age of 101.
