As one lawyer seeks to turn the tables on malicious prosecution claims brought by Facebook Inc., a trio of law firms facing parallel charges will try their luck this week before a New York appeals court.

The New York Supreme Court Appellate Division’s First Department will hear arguments on Friday in Facebook’s malicious prosecution and attorney deceit case against DLA Piper, Milberg, and Lippes Mathias Wexler Friedman. The appeal is part of the ongoing fallout from western New York businessman Paul Ceglia’s failed breach of contract lawsuit against Facebook, in which Ceglia claimed a majority ownership stake in the social media giant.
