In two weeks, if its pending combination with Dentons gets approval from a partner vote later this month, Singapore’s oldest law firm, Rodyk & Davidson, will be the latest in the city-state to join a global law firm.
Several other midsize Singaporean firms have made international connections recently. In April, corporate firm Stamford Law Corp merged with U.S. firm Morgan, Lewis & Bockius. In February, KhattarWong struck an alliance with U.K. firm Withers. Although KhattarWong didn’t respond to a request to comment for this story, three lawyers from Singaporean and international firms say it will likely achieve synergy between its strong tax practice and Withers’ offshore trust and tax practice for private clients.
