London-based Berwin Leighton Paisner has recruited a former Yangon managing partner from Baker & McKenzie to launch its first office in Myanmar.

The firm announced on Thursday that Christopher Hughes has joined to lead the firm’s practice in the Southeast Asian country. Hughes, a former Sydney-based partner at Baker & McKenzie, relocated to Yangon in February 2014 to head up the U.S. firm’s office there.
