Dechert has hired Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom counsel Matthew Cowie for its white collar team in London. Cowie joins the firm as a partner. He worked at Skadden for over five years. Before that, he was a prosecutor in the Serious Fraud Office between 1999 and 2010. During his time there, he was seconded to the United Nations Procurement Task Force where he investigated fraud, corruption and mismanagement within the United Nations system.

DLA Piper’s U.K. competition head Kate Vernon has been hired by Quinn Emanuel Urquhart & Sullivan to join the firm as a partner in London.
