While many C-suites and law firms may be increasing their cybersecurity awareness, many major federal agencies are less secure in 2016 than they were just one year prior, an Office of Management and Budget (OMB) report has found.
The OMB, the largest office within the Executive Office of the President, found in its fiscal year 2015 “Federal Information Security Modernization Act” report to Congress that of the 24 federal departments and agencies named within the CFO Act of 1990, just one – General Services Administration (91%) – featured an overall “cybersecurity assessment score” above 90 percent. That represents a massive decrease from the eight agencies who scored similarly from the year before.
