Ashurst has hired an energy partner in Singapore.
Jon Ornolfsson was most recently a senior associate at Herbert Smith Freehills in the city-state. He advises on mergers and acquisitions and project development in the oil and gas, power and petrochemical sectors in Southeast Asia. In 2014, he represented Papua New Guinea’s InterOil Corp. on a $1.5 billion sale of gas field interest to France’s Total S.A. In the same year, he also advised Japan’s Mitsui & Co on a $129 million sale of an ammonia plant in Indonesia to state-owned fertilizer producer PT Pupuk Indonesia Holding Co.
