Attorneys for General Motors and plaintiffs’ lawyers have reported a settlement in the third of six bellwether trials in the multidistrict litigation over defective ignition switches.

In a letter filed Thursday with Southern District Judge Jesse Furman, counsel for GM informed the court they have entered into a confidential term sheet and are working to finalize a settlement in Yingling v. General Motors, 14-cv-5336.
