Jason Itkin, an attorney with the Houston-based firm Arnold & Itkin, won a $70 million award in Philadelphia for a boy who claimed drugmaker Janssen Pharmaceuticals failed to warn that Risperdal, the antipsychotic drug the boy took to control his violent behavior, would lead him to grow breasts.

The verdict in A.Y. v. Janssen Pharmaceuticals was nearly 20 times larger than the amounts juries awarded to plaintiffs in the four previous Risperdal cases that went to trial combined.
