Michael Wong joins from K&L Gates, where he was a partner advising on fund formation and investments. He represents fund managers and financial institutions on Hong Kong Securities and Futures Commission-related regulatory issues, including licensing and registration, custody arrangements, disclosure of interests and insider dealing. In July, Wong acted for Hong Kong-based manager Capital Focus Asset Management Ltd. on raising a $258 million fund to invest in a peer-lending platform.
Wong joined K&L Gates in 2015 from Allen & Overy where he was counsel. He practiced at Stephenson Harwood and Bird & Bird before joining the Magic Circle firm in 2008.
