The number of new partners at the 618-attorney firm is slightly below last year’s level of 11 partners. The firm’s record of 13 new partners was set in 1998.

The partnership class represents a “variety of practices that run the gamut from specialty practices” such as immigration, to more traditional areas, such as IP litigation, said Mark Pitchford, Cooley’s chief operating officer.
