THE ELECTRONIC Privacy Information Center (EPIC) Jan. 14 filed a suit in federal court in Washington, D.C. against the Department of Justice and the Department of the Treasury seeking information to establish that the federal government has purchased sensitive electronic personal data about citizens from private companies.
