Khazarian moved to Kaplan in May, after learning about the position through a recruiter. She was attracted by the opportunity to help lead the rapidly growing company, which has exploded from $75 million in revenues in 1992 to $621 million a decade later. Working with Kaplan’s constantly evolving business model also appealed to her. The GC job there is not, she says, just a “legal maintenance function.”

A self-described generalist who believes that doing a variety of legal work keeps her “mental juices flowing,” Khazarian held a range of in-house positions before taking over leadership of Kaplan’s five-lawyer department.
