Four years ago Matthew Gloss, GC of Marvell Semiconductor, and two of his colleagues phoned the legal chief of rival Jasmine Networks. The call went straight to voicemail, so Gloss left a message and hung up. At least, he thought he did -- but the voicemail was still taping as Gloss continued to talk on speakerphone, allegedly about how Marvell was stealing Jasmine's trade secrets. The incident has turned into a major headache, not just for Marvell, but potentially for in-house lawyers everywhere.
