The U.S. government expects 2007 deal activity to remain essentially level with the strong performance of the previous two years, according to estimates contained in next year’s federal budget.
“We anticipate a demanding merger review workload in FYs 2006 and 2007,” the agency wrote in its comments accompanying the budget request.
