Joseph Konowiecki is general counsel at PacifiCare Health Systems, a health care company in Cypress, Calif., that was recently acquired by UnitedHealth Group, which is headquartered in Minneapolis.
Before joining the company in 2002, Konowiecki was a partner at Los Angeles’ Konowiecki & Rank, a firm that specialized in health care matters and that is now known as K&R Law Group. He originally assumed GC duties at PacifiCare in 1988 while still serving as a partner at his firm. He also represented the company in a variety of legal matters before taking on the general counsel’s position. Konowiecki is a 1978 graduate of Hastings College of the Law.
