The grandfather of four and great-grandfather of two suffers from shortness of breath due to silicosis — an occupational lung disease he was diagnosed with by his attorney’s expert that’s caused by inhaling silica dust. This disease, he says, also inflicts him when he walks long distances or at a rapid pace.
