Attorneys for Qualcomm Inc. who are facing possible sanctions for a massive discovery breach have hired their own attorneys.
Day Casebeer Madrid & Batchelder and Heller Ehrman both represented Qualcomm in a patent infringement trial in which many thousands of relevant documents were not turned over to the other side, Broadcom Corp. Now several individual lawyers from Cupertino-based Day Casebeer — lead counsel in the case — have retained attorneys from San Francisco’s Shartsis Friese, while the firm itself has hired Howard, Rice, Nemerovski, Canady, Falk & Rabkin, according to Day Casebeer partner Paul Grewal.
