The Securities and Exchange Commission will soon lose its remaining Democratic commissioner, Annette Nazareth, who on Tuesday announced her intention to leave the agency and return to the private sector.
The announcement follows the departure of fellow Democrat Roel Campos last month. It is the first time the agency has lacked its full complement of five commissioners since the wave of corporate scandals in 2002.
