In a case that began in 2005 with one plaintiff and a total claim of $19.75, Chimicles & Tikellis has reached a settlement with T-Mobile USA worth almost $2.2 million, requiring the cellular services provider to reimburse class members with a net recovery of the full amount of unrefunded billing overcharges. In addition to the 100 percent recovery, which a lawyer at another firm called "virtually unheard of" for a class action, T-Mobile paid counsel fees totaling $1,097,808 as a condition of the settlement.
