Nearly 200 new associates spent the afternoon on Dec. 9 learning how to handle volunteer legal work at the first annual Pro Bono Day hosted by the Association of the Bar of the City of New York.

The City Bar’s Committee on Pro Bono and Legal Services organized the event for all associates in the city, with the help of 28 law firms, including Davis Polk & Wardwell; Debevoise & Plimpton; Paul, Weiss, Rifkind, Wharton & Garrison; Simpson Thacher & Bartlett, and Sullivan & Cromwell.
