Flush with record profits, some of the country’s largest law firms are hiring summer associates in record numbers.
Take New York’s Debevoise & Plimpton. It nearly doubled the size of its program this year, to 98 from 51. It’s hardly alone. A number of large firms have summer associate classes of more than 160 students.
