Memorial Day was once the time for Brahmin lawyers to take their white summer shoes out of the closet, but come June 1, Bingham Dana L.L.P. associate Fiona Trevelyan will strap on some blue, low-heeled sandals.
The casual dress trend, begun in California and once limited to Fridays, has, it seems, spread across the country, a survey of dress policy by The National Law Journal shows. In Boston Ms. Trevelyan’s firm will let her slip on sandals throughout the summer months. In the heartland, Omaha, Neb.’s Kutak Rock is, for the first time, adopting everyday casual dress for the summer.
