Court-ordered mediation has settled a libel case an Austell man brought against Time magazine for falsely identifying him as an international terrorist.
Time won the case in a federal trial in 1996, but the 11th U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals reversed, citing an erroneous jury instruction. Lawyers for the magazine and plaintiff confirm that the case settled, but say the terms are confidential.
