As of Friday, the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Developmentrequires appraisers to provide dramatically more extensive informationabout the condition of homes in Federal Housing Administrationmortgages � so much more, in fact, that appraisers say the new rulesforce them to become home inspectors, judging a home’s elements in waysthey aren’t qualified to do.
