A Riviera Beach manufacturer of medical instruments has been hit with a$6.4 million judgment for backing out of an agreement to have theproducts promoted in Japan.
A jury in Miami’s U.S. District Court last week found in favor ofMizuho Ikakogyo Co. Ltd., a manufacturer and distributor of medicalinstruments in Japan. Now, Riviera Beach’s Mednext, which makessurgical and medical equipment, and its parent company, Sofamor DanekGroup Inc. of Memphis, which develops spinal products, must pay $6.4million.
